How does the process work?
An engineering process starts with understanding the site and what the building needs. Soil survey results, the zoning status and the intended use of the building are assessed together, and the structural design, reinforced concrete calculations and other technical drawings follow from that. At this stage the number of storeys, the span sizes and the loads the building will carry are factored into the calculations to set the most suitable structural system. During construction, critical work such as formwork, reinforcement and concrete pouring is checked on site against the approved drawings, and any deviation found is corrected to match the design straight away.
